Foro Mundial sobre Migración y Desarrollo - México 2010

Welcome to the Fourth Meeting of the Global Forum on Migration and Development Website.

By taking over the GFMD Chair-in-office, the Government of Mexico confirms its commitment to help strengthen this process as a state-led dialogue to exchange experiences and best practices. We look forward to advance on a comprehensive and inclusive approach to discuss the links between migration and development.

Previous GFMD meetings have addressed key aspects of international migration, however the current trends poses new challenges that require us to address them through multilateral dialogue and cooperation. To achieve this goal, we need to revisit some key concepts and break some old stereotypes to build a new and broad perspective on international migration.

The GFMD Chair-in-office expects that participants find this website to be a useful tool to stay well informed on the latest information and news related to the Fourth GFMD Meeting. Furthermore, we hope that it will help us to maintain a dynamic and effective communication among all participants.

Mexico invites countries, international agencies and civil society organizations to participate in this GFMD process and to follow the conceptual and logistic development of the 2010 meeting through this website.
