GFMD Steering Group and Friends of the Forum Strengthen the Foundations of Mexico GFMD

MEXICO—On 28-29 April 2010, in preparation for the Fourth Meeting of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) scheduled for Puerto Vallarta in November 2010, the Government of Mexico held its second round of consultations with members of the GFMD Steering Group and Friends of the Forum, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

MEXICO—On 28 and 29 April 2010, respectively, Mexico will hold the second round of meetings of the GFMD Steering Group and Friends of the Forum in Geneva to prepare for the Fourth Meeting of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) in Puerto Vallarta, November 2010, around the theme, Partnerships for migration and human development: shared prosperity – shared responsibility.

MEXICO—On 01-02 February 2010, in preparation for the Fourth Meeting of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD), scheduled for Puerto Vallarta in November 2010, the Government of Mexico held its first consultations with the members of the GFMD Steering Group and Friends of the Forum at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

The Mexican GFMD 2010 Chair-in-Office invites all Friends of the Forum (FOF) to attend the First FOF Meeting on 02 February 2010, from 10.00 to 13.00 hrs and 15.00 to 18.00 (if necessary), at La Salle XXIII, Palais des Nations, Geneva.

The Mexican GFMD 2010 Chair-in-Office invites all Members of the GFMD Steering Group to attend its first meeting on 01 February 2010, from 10.00 to 13.00 hrs and 15.00 to 18.00 (if necessary), at La Salle XXIII, Palais des Nations, Geneva.

On 08 December 2009, Mexico officially assumed the Chairmanship of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) 2010. Ambassador Juan Manuel Gomez Robledo, Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, accepted the symbolic hand-over of the GFMD Chairmanship from Ambassador Vasilis Karantonis, who represented Mrs. Theodora Tzakri, Chair of Greece GFMD 2009.
