Given the context of large-scale displacement in Northern Mozambique, the Municipal Council of Pemba City (CMCP), with the support of UN-Habitat and IOM, propose to work synergically on the urban dimension of displacement as an opportunity to ensure a better future for displaced and host communities through increasing IDPs’ integration in urban areas.

Yaounde Declaration on Solutions in the context of Forced Displacement related to the Central African Republic Crisis

This declaration was adopted on April 27, 2022, during a ministerial conference held in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The conference brought together representatives from the CAR, Cameroon, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo, Sudan, and South Sudan, in partnership with UNHCR.

Regional Approach for a Migration Policy (RAMP) for CARICOM

In 2024, IOM supported 15 CARICOM member states and regional bodies in developing a comprehensive regional migration policy framework. This initiative responds to the evolving migration landscape and the need for a coordinated approach to migration governance

The initiative positions migration policy as a tool to advance regional integration and address national concerns from a regional's perspective. Thus, it also provides regional contextualized guidance and tools for national-level actions and policy development.

The Interagency Coordination Platform for Refugees and Migrants (R4V Platform)

The Interagency Coordination Platform for Refugees and Migrants (R4V) is a collaborative effort involving over 200 organizations, including UN agencies, civil society, faith-based organizations, and NGOs. The GRAMALOTE project

The GRAMALOTE project is a case study of the small town of Gramalote in Colombia, which was resettled due to the La Nia phenomenon. The main objectives were to relocate the entire population of the town, which was destroyed by landslides in 2010, and to rebuild the community in a safer location. Environment-migration nexus in Mali & Strengthening data related to internal and cross border displacement in the Sahel Region

The general objective of the project is to strengthen the resilience of displaced populations, migrants and communities and establish inclusive, peaceful and sustainable natural resource management in the Sahel and especially in Mali, and improve the availability of data on mixed migration in the Sahel, particularly on the environment-migration nexus and through the collection, management, analysis and dissemination of data on internal and cross-border displacement.

FAO Guiding Framework and Toolkit

The targeted population includes vulnerable communities affected by socio-environmental crises.

Coalition for Green Skills Pathways

This coalition was created by the government, private sector, UN, and NGOs in 2024 to train and connect refugees and displaced workers to green transition jobs. It focuses on long-term employment solutions for refugees in green jobs and is primarily focused on countries of first asylum. UNHCR is one of the members of the coalition, contributing by leveraging its socio-economic data about refugee populations, its livelihoods programming, and advising on necessary protection safeguards, including access to travel documents and prevention of refoulement.
