Given the context of large-scale displacement in Northern Mozambique, the Municipal Council of Pemba City (CMCP), with the support of UN-Habitat and IOM, propose to work synergically on the urban dimension of displacement as an opportunity to ensure a better future for displaced and host communities through increasing IDPs’ integration in urban areas.

Diia.pl - A digital identity document for Ukrainian refugees in Poland

Ukrainian refugees obtained an easy electronic tool for identity confirmation and certifying the legality of their stay in Poland.
Used together with a valid travel document it also allows the movement within the Schengen area for 90 days in any 180-day period and crossing EUs external borders (included Polish-Ukrainian border).
Ukrainian citizens can use the Diia.pl after receiving a PESEL number (National Identification Number) and activating a trusted profile, which allows identity verification online.

Refugee and Migrant Response: Plan (RMRP)

The RMRP covers 17 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean with an overview of 12 thematic areas of direct assistance (Education, Food Security, Health, Humanitarian Transportation, Integration, Nutrition, Protection, Child Protection, Gender-Based Violence, Human Trafficking and Smuggling, Shelter and WASH).
This structure, also replicated at a national level, provides an ample scope of response and collaboration between the partners of the platform and the local government, and this is reflected in regional and country response plans.

National Strategy for Sustainable Solutions for IDPs and returnees in the Central African Republic 2024 - 2028

This strategy was officially launched on July 26, 2024, by the Central African government, with support from the United Nations and development partners.
The strategy aims to provide a comprehensive framework to address the challenges faced by internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees in the Central African Republic (CAR). It replaces the previous strategy that covered the period from 2018 to 2021 and outlines strategic approaches for the repatriation and reintegration of IDPs and Central African refugees in exile.

Yaounde Declaration on Solutions in the context of Forced Displacement related to the Central African Republic Crisis

This declaration was adopted on April 27, 2022, during a ministerial conference held in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The conference brought together representatives from the CAR, Cameroon, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo, Sudan, and South Sudan, in partnership with UNHCR.

Summer of normality: European cities and regions host Ukrainian children

Ukraine refugee response in Europe: Many examples of cities working together to host refugees, to search for missing members of families etc. Once concrete example: In 2024: Fifty regions and cities in Europe host summer camps outside of Ukraine to find temporary refuge from the war in youth camps in the European Union. To date, more than 3,000 children benefited from this initiative in 2024.

Better Migration Management (BMM) Programme in the Horn of Africa.

The BMM is a regional programme that implements in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan and Uganda to promote safe, orderly, and regular migration from and within the Horn of Africa. It has supported the partner countries to establish and strengthen National Coordination Mechanisms (NCMs). These inter-institutional bodies include representatives from the ministries concerned (Justice, Interior Affairs, Health, Education, Labour, Social Services, etc.), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and local communities dealing with migration issues, and facilitate joint actions.
