IFAD launched the ‘Remittance Community Task Force’ with public and private stakeholders to come up with immediate measures to address the impact of COVID on remittances and in response to the call by the UN Secretary-General for global solidarity within the COVID-19 pandemic. This task force contributed to the discussion within the Financing for Development Process recently launched by the Prime Ministers of Canada and of Jamaica.

Addis Ababa is a recipient of the Global Cities Fund for Migrants and Refugees (GCF), the Mayors Migration Council’s response to the unmet needs of cities as they support migrants, refugees, and internally displaced people.

Migration and the 2030 Agenda: Guide for Practitioners

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development recognizes migration as a core development consideration — marking the first time that migration is explicitly integrated into the global development agenda. Implementation of the SDGs provides an opportunity to protect and empower mobile populations to fulfil their development potential and benefit individuals, communities and countries around the world. But the migration-SDG connections reach far beyond just implementing migration poli-cies, and entail integrating migration across governance sectors. 

Global Platform for Syrian Students

The platform aims to enable Syrian students to resume their university studies in Portugal under an emergency scholarship program.  

The Global Platform is an international endeavour to provide emergency scholarships to Syrian students and enable them to acquire professional qualifications. Furthermore, it also aims at forging collective political will and to mobilise concerted action aimed at promoting Higher Education in Emergencies at large and to place it high on the international agenda.

Higher Education for Salvadorans Abroad

“Distance Education Oriented for Salvadorans Abroad” is the name of the program currently being executed by the Viceministry for Salvadorans Abroad and Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador (UTEC), which will allow the undertaking of joint actions to develop distance educational services for Salvadorans living overseas.

Senescyt Scholarships to study in Ecuador and abroad

The Ecuadorian government recognizes the importance of quality education that is accessible for all, as well as the importance of human capital in the development of a country. As established in article 26 of the Ecuadorian Constitution, education is a fundamental right that must be given and guaranteed by the national government.

MOA Between the PHL and the Kingdom of Bahrain on Health Services Cooperation

The MOA between the Philippines and Bahrain is aimed at creating alliances between the Philippines and Bahrain's recognized healthcare and educational institutions to produce sustainable international education, training and professional/technical development programs. The agreement includes the Exchange of Human Resources for Health, Scholarships Program and Academic Cooperation on Human Resources for Health and among others.

Plan of the Alliance for the Prosperity of the Northern Triangle

The plan promotes the coordination and inter-linkage of actions over a 5 year horizon (2016-2020) and seeks to give people incentives to stay in their own countries by means of structural change that offers economic opportunities and transforms the citizen’s of the Northern Triangle of Central America quality of life, mainly in regions affected by the highest rates of poverty, migration and vulnerability.

The Pan-African University's Nyerere Program

The Nyerere Program aims to contribute to high-level African human resource development and retention and supporting intra-African academic mobility. It covers a range of initiatives to boost mobility for students and staff in higher education, promoting research and capacity building and acting to stem the numbers of qualified graduates leaving for jobs outside the continent.
