The Community Connections Program

AFL Cape York Annual Tri-Series (Sports Diplomacy for Pacific and Indigenous Australian Youth)

The AFL Cape York Tri-Series brings together Papua New Guinean, Torres Strait Islander, Aboriginal Youth for cross-cultural exchange through sport. Using Sports Diplomacy, the initiative provides a platform for leadership development, cultural sharing, and social inclusion. Through mentorship, workshops, and on-field collaboration, young athletes engaged in cultural traditional foster ting stronger regional ties, mutual understanding and long term opportunities.

Australia Pacific Technical College

The Australia Pacific Technical College is a development-cooperation funded vocational training programme operating in Pacific countries. More than 17 000 have graduated from the programme since its inception in 2007, with 83 percent successfully employed. The programme was not designed specifically to promote emigration, but to build skills in islands where local skill basins were insufficient and skilled workers were deployed from developed countries.

Running since 2007 and with surveys of the Australian population conducted annually since 2009, the study provides a rich and long-running set of data on social cohesion, immigration, multiculturalism, migrant settlement and integration and a range of other topical issues.

National Anti-Racism Strategy
