The Digital Platform Will Leave a Lasting Legacy for Migrant Worker Rights at Mega-Sporting Events is an initiative developed by global unions for construction and domestic workers. The platform is designed to advance migrant worker rights by facilitating access to information, training, and paralegal advice and support. The main objective is to leave a legacy of improved worker rights that outlasts the spectacle of mega-sporting events

The Resilient Communities Programme (CoRe) is a four-year initiative gathering civil society organizations (CSOs) from 15 countries across the globe. The main objectives are to promote a just ecological transition, support local projects, and strengthen community resilience. The targeted population includes vulnerable communities affected by socio-environmental crises.

This report presents the findings of a comprehensive study on immigration detention and alternatives to detention (ATD) across 19 countries within the five sub-regions of the Asia-Pacific: East and Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South and Southwest Asia, North and Central Asia, and the Pacific. Across the Asia-Pacific region, there is widespread use of arbitrary immigration detention, used as a de facto measure without safeguards in place to ensure that it is reasonable, necessary, and proportionate in the individual case.

It is running for interested companies in the pilot regions of Rostock, Reutlingen, Lübeck, Düsseldorf and Erfurt. The Employment Agency supports SMEs with the selection of suitable candidates, the matching process, initiation and support throughout the professional recognition procedure, arrangement of German courses (up to language Level B1 before arrival in Germany, up to Level B2 after arrival) and assistance with visa and entry.

The Government of India launched an initiative SWADES (Skilled Workers Arrival Database for Employment Support) to conduct skill mapping of the returning citizens under the Vande Bharat Mission (VBM). SWADES was a joint initiative of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Ministry of External Affairs which aimed to create a database of returning citizens based on their skill sets and experience.

Grievance resolution mechanism for Indian migrant workers. Users can register in the MADAD if they have any grievance related to consular services offered by Indian Missions/Posts abroad or are an Indian student studying/planning to study abroad. MADAD enables online logging and tracking of grievances, and submission of course/contact details of students.

Norka-Roots training programme for vulnerable women with ‘Trivandrum Social Service Society (TSSS) CSO, provides facilities and training for women from most vulnerable groups via grassroots CSO networks to foster employment in destination countries, and in particular in GCC countries.

The UAE and India have developed the UAE-India Harmonized Framework for Skills Recognition and Certification designed to address the mismatch between workers’ skills and requirements of employers aims to improve skills mix in the UAE labour market and enhance the rate of mobility for certified workers, improving job security and reducing vulnerabilities. Employers in the UAE are incentivized to participate in the programme through reduced work permit fees.

The PowerSouth initiative, founded by two Indian women living in Germany, aims to create a more equitable relationship between resource providers, implementers and entrepreneurs by promoting inclusion and gender justice for marginalized women to become empowered in climate action. 

PowerSouth offers professional services to instate women in management and ownership roles at local projects in countries, including India.

The Global Programme “Shaping development-oriented migration” (MEG) assists partner countries in leveraging the benefits of regular migration and engaging diaspora for sustainable development.

Working on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the MEG is active in up to 15 partner countries around the globe.
