Information Brochures

The global programme Shaping development-oriented migration" (MEG) created in total 15 information brochures for the ministries of labour in Vietnam in Georgia, being part of the advisory portfolio. The brochures focus on different aspects of the German Skilled Immigration Act as well as on aspects of fair and ethical recruitment like employee rights and contract conditions. Two videos are complementing the portfolio, contributing to better informed migration decisions.

Hand in Hand for International Talents

Hand and in Hand for International Talents brings companies and international qualified professionals together. It is running for interested companies in the pilot regions of Rostock, Reutlingen, Lübeck, Düsseldorf and Erfurt. The Employment Agency supports SMEs with the selection of suitable candidates, the matching process, initiation and support throughout the professional recognition procedure, arrangement of German courses (up to language Level B1 before arrival in Germany, up to Level B2 after arrival) and assistance with visa and entry.

Partnership Approaches for Development-oriented Vocational Training and Labour Migration (PAM)

‘Partnerships for development oriented labour migration’ (PAM) aims to implement developmentoriented migration models for training and employment. Strong partnerships between state, private sector, and civil society actors are intended to create added value for the countries of origin of trainees and skilled workers. The structures in the vocational training sector in the partner countries are to be strengthened and the recognition of migrants' qualifications and skills promoted.

Shaping development-oriented migration (MEG)

The Global Programme “Shaping development-oriented migration” (MEG) assists partner countries in leveraging the benefits of regular migration and engaging diaspora for sustainable development.

Working on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the MEG is active in up to 15 partner countries around the globe. It contributes towards implementing the GCM and is part of a comprehensive approach to migration and development. The MEG contributes to the following objectives: 

ASEAN Declaration on The Protection of Migrant Workers and Family Members in Crisis Situations

The Declaration recognises the need to provide humanitarian assistance to all migrants and their family members—regardless of their legal status— during crisis situations. It encourages the ASEAN Member States to include migrant workers and their families in all stages of crisis management and ensure they have access to continuing support.

The adoption of the ASEAN Declaration on Portability of Social Security Benefits for Migrant Workers in ASEAN is the realisation of the ASEAN Leaders’ commitments made in the 2007 Cebu Declaration and the 2017 ASEAN Consensus on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers. It also reflects the concerted efforts of the Member States to transform ASEAN into a community that is people-centred, inclusive, sustainable, resilient, and dynamic as stated in the ASEAN 2025 Vision.

Governance of Labour Migration in South and South-East Asia (GOALS)
