The Global Diaspora Policy Alliance (GDPA) is a global network dedicated to promoting inclusive, evidence-based diaspora policies through fostering transnational cooperation among governments, diaspora communities, and international organizations. The GDPA advances dialogue, partnership, and peer learning to strengthen diaspora engagement, social cohesion, and sustainable development. It facilitates the exchange of best practices to empower diasporas in both their countries of origin and residence.

A development-driven initiative implemented by IOM and funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), aiming to harness the potential of the Tunisian diaspora for socio-economic recovery, particularly in high-migration regions. The project mobilizes social, cultural, human, and financial capital through partnerships between diaspora investors and local entrepreneurs.

Sustainable & Gender-Sensitive IDP Integration in Pemba Via Urban Durable Solutions

Given the context of large-scale displacement in Northern Mozambique, the Municipal Council of Pemba City (CMCP), with the support of UN-Habitat and IOM, propose to work synergically on the urban dimension of displacement as an opportunity to ensure a better future for displaced and host communities through increasing IDPs’ integration in urban areas.

Inclusive Labour Market Programme in Ecuador - National R4V programme

In Ecuador, in 2024, R4V partners reached 73,634 refugees, migrants and host community members through various initiatives to promote socio-economic inclusion. These efforts included support for access to employment through vocational and technical training, capacity-building programmes, and job placement assistance to enhance labour market integration.

Refugee and Migrant Response: Plan (RMRP)

The RMRP covers 17 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean with an overview of 12 thematic areas of direct assistance (Education, Food Security, Health, Humanitarian Transportation, Integration, Nutrition, Protection, Child Protection, Gender-Based Violence, Human Trafficking and Smuggling, Shelter and WASH).
This structure, also replicated at a national level, provides an ample scope of response and collaboration between the partners of the platform and the local government, and this is reflected in regional and country response plans.

Fifth WHO Health for All Film Festival, special Prize Migrants and Refugees Health

On 26 May 2024, the World Health Organization announced the official selection of this years winning films of its 5th Health for All Film Festival. The awards were announced at a special event launching WHOs Investment Round on the eve of the Seventy-Seventh World Health Assembly in Geneva. Among the film awarded, the special Prize Migrants and Refugees Health was given to Dalal's Story directed by Alexandra Cordukes from Laundry Lane Productions (Australia).
