"Jeunes des 2 Rives" (J2R) is a project, created by Solidarité Laïque, on education for citizenship and international solidarity, whose overall objective is to contribute to empowering and encouraging civic engagement among young people in France, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria, particularly those most exposed to social and territorial inequalities.

By supporting young people in the Mediterranean basin in their commitment to solidarity, and by inviting them to act together, the J2R project aims to improve their understanding of the issues involved in solidarity and living together, to encourage and develop their critical thinking, and to help them learn about citizenship that is open to the world.

The programme is based in particular on the educational players who work with young people on a daily basis (educators, youth workers, mediators, community activists, etc.). 

It follows on from an initial two-year pilot phase (2017-2019), which enabled the programme to identify, on an experimental basis and within a limited scope, the areas of work and organisations that need to be developed with a view to extending and scaling up.
